Salary: GBP36,745 – GBP56,959 (annu)

A secondary school in Ilford, London, is seeking a passionate and dedicated Art & Design Teacher to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for a creative individual to inspire and nurture young artists as they explore the world of art and design.

Role Overview: As an Art & Design Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality lessons that engage and motivate students across all key stages. Working within a supportive and collaborative department, you will have the opportunity to develop innovative teaching strategies and enriching curriculum content.

Key Responsibilities:

* Plan and deliver engaging Art & Design lessons that cater to the diverse needs and abilities of students.
* Inspire creativity and self-expression through a range of artistic mediums and techniques.
* Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment where students feel supported and valued.
* Provide constructive feedback and guidance to students to help them develop their artistic skills and confidence.
* Collaborate with colleagues to contribute to the development of the Art & Design curriculum and departmental initiatives.
* Organise and participate in extracurricular activities and events to showcase student artwork and celebrate achievement.

Requirements:

* A degree in a relevant subject area (e.g., Fine Art, Design, Visual Arts) is essential.
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or be in the process of completing Initial Teacher Training (ITT) as an Early Career Teacher (ECT).
* Passion for art education and a commitment to inspiring young learners.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
* Strong organisational skills and the ability to effectively plan and deliver engaging lessons.
* Understanding of assessment practices and the ability to track student progress effectively.
* Enthusiasm for contributing to the wider life of the school community through extracurricular activities and events.
