Offer DescriptionEndometriosis is a chronic disease characterized by the presence of endometrium-like tissue outside the uterine cavity, most often in the peritoneum and on the ovaries. This disease causes chronic pain, inflammation, forms scar tissue and tissue adhesions, often leading to infertility and an increased risk of ovarian cancer. Current treatment methods, focus on the use of painkillers, hormonal drugs and surgical removal of the foci. The microenvironment of endometriosis foci is complex with different cell types and biochemical factors involved in cell migration, inflammation and the formation of new blood vessels, complicating in vitro research into the disease. The goal of the project is to develop new research models of the endometrium in the form of a three-dimensional (3D) and vascularized structure, using Organ-on-a-chip technology.The candidate should have a proven scientific profile in biology, biotechnology or related sciences. The candidate should have knowledge of techniques such as RT-PCR, Western Blot, flow cytometry, confocal microscopy, experience in in vitro cell culture and analysis. The candidate should have very good English language skills.
