The BI service’s mission is to use the Council’s data in collaborative and imaginative ways so that insight and intelligence is at the heart of how the Council operates and improves services to residents.  

This role is part of the BI Developer Academy which focuses on delivering complex BI solutions across the Council. There are two main functions within our developer team; one focused on our data warehouse and building BI solutions including reporting and dashboards while the second function is focused on the Power Platform – Power Apps, Power Automate and Power Pages. On a 6 monthly basis this role will focus on one of these functions and will deliver work covering the main services and departments within the organisation. This role will carry out a wide range of development activity with some key responsibilities including building data structures within the enterprise data warehouse, building views/reports/dashboards, automating processes and supporting the development/maintenance of Power Apps.

Key Role Responsibilities

•To support and produce technical BI Solutions against the Borough’s priorities and objective.

•To design and develop dashboards that enable services to improve data driven decision making.

•To develop ETL packages and reporting scripts within the enterprise data warehouse.

•To develop technical BI solutions on complex subjects where the outcome and content is not straight forward.

•To develop a wide range of relationships with stakeholders ensuring that the BI Service delivers value for money.

•To deliver creative solutions within areas where predefined roles and procedures are not always available.

•To support the maintenance and operation of the BI Data Warehouse and Infrastructure.

•Support maintenance and development of power apps and the use of power automate within the service.

•To deliver technical BI solutions that have a significant impact on service provision and supports services in making critical decisions.

•To develop a strong understanding of BI development and scripting including the application of technology for business intelligence.
