Assistant Ecologist & Seasonal Assistant Ecologist

Salary – £20000-25000 per annum (pro rata seasonal)

Hours – Full time 37.50 hours per week

Location – Tyne Valley, Northumberland

We are an established ecology consultancy based in Northumberland covering all of the
North East, Cumbria and Yorkshire.

OS Ecology are looking for additional staff to support and enhance our experienced team over
the busy 2024 summer season.

You will work alongside our team of ecologists to assist with daytime and evening survey work
over several nights per week assisting on bat and great crested newt surveys.

There is also office-based work to be carried out assisting with downloading and analysing bat
data, organising the workload and general office based tasks.

You should be a team player, well organised, like to be outside and a good communicator.

Requirements

• Full UK driving licence with own car
• Qualified to degree level in Ecology (or relevant field)
• Excellent level written, oral and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Available minimum 3 nights per week

Desirable skills

• Experience in zoology & botany
• Interested in protected species
• GIS experience
