Offer DescriptionRECTOR OF THE SILESIAN UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY announces the competition for the position of assistant in a group of research and teaching employees in the Department of Digital Systems at the Faculty of Automatic Control, Electronics and Computer Science at the Silesian University of Technology in Gliwice, 2A Akademicka St.Job description:
1) the competition for the position of assistant is open to persons who meet the requirements specified in the Act of 20 July 2018 – Law on Higher Education and Science (Journal of Laws of 2023, item 742, as amended) and the Statute of the Silesian University of Technology of 3 June, 2019 (Legal Monitor of SUT of 2020, item 339 as amended),
2) estimated work commencement date: 01.10.2024,
3) workplace and type of contract: Department of Digital Systems at the Faculty of Automatic Control, Electronics and Computer Science at the Silesian University of Technology, full-time employment contract,
4) period of employment: from 01.10.2024 to 30.09.2025(with the possibility of extension).Requirements:
1) master’s degree or master’s degree in engineering in the discipline of: automation, electronics, electrical engineering and space technologies or technical information technology and telecommunication; preferred field: electronics and telecommunications,
2) knowledge of the Polish language, spoken and written, enabling to conduct teaching classes,
3) knowledge of English to the extent enabling to conduct teaching classes.
4) participation in thematic conferences and symposia.Additional requirements:
1) documented scientific achievements (preferred in the form of international publications),
2) knowledge of methods for designing modern digital circuits; knowledge of the hardware description language(s); knowledge of AMD-Xilinx VIVADO or Intel Quartus environment,
3) knowledge of programming languages (including C/C++); as well as modern microprocessor systems/systems-on-chip,
4) knowledge of functional verification methods of application-specific integrated systems and UVM methodology,
5) openness to learning new issues related to teaching in the Microinformatics of Digital Systems course conducted under the auspices of Intel in Katowice, Poland,
6) experience in conducting teaching classes in the area of digital or microprocessor technology
7) internship in a company dealing with the design of electronic systems or running your own company in this area will be an additional advantage.Required documents:

4) information on the scientific and didactic achievements together with the determined direction of her/his further activity,
5) opinion of at least one research employee with the academic title of professor or the degree of habilitated doctor – academic supervisor or master thesis supervisor – regarding the candidate’s predispositions to work as a research and teaching employee,
6) candidate’s declaration that the Silesian University of Technology will be the primary place of work,
