Offer DescriptionRECTOR OF THE SILESIAN UNIVERISTY OF TECHNOLOGY announces the competition for the position of assistant in the group of teaching employees in the Department of Computer Networks and Systems at the Faculty of Automatic Control, Electronics and Computer Science at the Silesian University of Technology in Gliwice, 2A Akademicka St.Job description:
1) the competition for the position of assistant is open to persons who meet the requirements specified in the Act of 20 July 2018 – Law on Higher Education and Science (Journal of Laws of 2023, item 742, as amended) and the Statute of the Silesian University of Technology of 3 June, 2019 (Legal Monitor of SUT of 2020, item 339 as amended),
2) estimated work commencement date: 01.10.2024,
3) workplace and type of contract: Department of Computer Networks and Systems at the Faculty of Automatic Control, Electronics and Computer Science, full-time employment contract,
4) period of employment: from 01.10.2024 to 30.09.2028 (with the possibility of extension).Requirements:
1) MSc Eng degree in computer science/informatics, in the field closely related to computer networks,
2) participation in the development of the course program,
3) fluent knowledge of the Polish language in speech and writing enabling the conduct of teaching classes.Additional requirements:
1) PhD degree in computer science/informatics – will be an additional advantage,
2) authorship or co-authorship of at least 3 scientific articles on computer networks in journals with a non-zero Impact Factor (IF),
3) published papers at conferences or symposiums dedicated to computer networks, as an author or co-author; indexed in Scopus database, no fewer than 5.Required documents:
1) application letter,
2) copy of the diploma: MSc Eng; if the candidate has a doctoral degree – a scan of the diploma confirming it,
3) curriculum vitae (CV),
4) information about achievements and further activities,
5) list of published articles in journals and conference papers,
6) candidates for whom Polish is not their native language are requested to provide an appropriate Polish language certificate or at least statement,
7) a statement that the Silesian University of Technology will be the primary place of work,
8) opinion of at least one professor with the scientific title or habilitation degree regarding the candidate’s predispositions to work as an academic teacher.The University offers:
