Main duties:
- Conducting and disseminating research;
- Teaching courses included in the curriculum of the first and second cycle studies program, including Phonetics, Phonology, Practical English classes, and elective courses
- Carrying out organizational tasks assigned by the Head of the Institute, related to research and teaching conducted at the Institute.

Eligibility requirements :
- The successful candidate for the position shall comply with the requirements specified in art. 113 of The Law on Higher Education and Science of 20 July 2018 (Journal of Laws 2024, item 1571 with amendments);
- A doctoral degree in the humanities, specifically in linguistics with specialization in phonology. The candidate is expected to be able to document their research interest in the area of phonology and dialectology They are also expected to have expertise in American phonological theories, especially Optimality Theory and to be able to teach courses in phonology, phonetics and theoretical approaches to phonology and dialectology
- The candidate is expected to be involved in their own innovative research project(s), connected with various aspects of phonological theories and dialectology. In particular, the candidate is expected to express interest in thematic areas and methodological approaches that would enable the Department of the English Language to diversify its course offer;
- Publication record, including conference presentations;
- Experience in university teaching;
- The ability to work in a team. Exhibiting good interpersonal skills will also be taken into account, as will the candidate’s willingness to engage in international collaboration. The candidate should also be ready to take on organizational duties on behalf of the Institute;
- International experience;
- A plan for further academic activity.
In addition, we expect :
- Documented attempts to obtain external grants or successfully obtained grants are welcome.
The University of Warsaw must be the primary place of employment for the selected applicant.Criteria for assessing candidates:
- Research achievements: publications and conference presentations (quantity, impact, rank, local vs. international scope), proportional to the candidate’s postdoctoral work experience.;
- Participation in research projects or international exchange programs;
- Teaching experience/accomplishments
