D degree in the Humanities, in the discipline of History.

  • Experience in conducting research in the field of Polish history and / or general history in the 19th century (1789-1945).
  • Knowledge of at least one foreign language, sufficient to conduct research and communicate its results.
  • A proven record of scholarly publication, including either: a published or accepted scholarly monograph or academic articles in journals classified under the discipline of history and included on the official ministerial list of peer-reviewed journals, or at least two chapters in peer-reviewed collective monographs
  • Experience in securing external funding for scientific research or collaborative research projects, confirmed by leading or participating in a domestic or international research project funded by nationally or internationally competitive grant programs (including, but not limited to MNiSW, MKiDN, NCN, NCBiR, or FNP), or through a scholarship or research internship at a renowned academic institution abroad.
  • Preparedness to conduct teaching activities in the field of Polish and general history of the 19th and 20th centuries. For candidates from outside Poland, proficiency in the language Polish sufficient to conduct academic classes.

Responsibilities (research, teaching and organizational):The assistant professor will be expected to: * Conduct research on the history of Poland and/or general history of the 19th century (1789-1945).

  • Teach courses in Polish and general history of the 19th and 20th centuries.
  • Fulfill organizational responsibilities associated with employment at the Institute of History of the University of Wrocław.
  • Apply for research funding.
  • Publish scholarly articles in journals and monographs listed on ministerial publication lists.
  • Apply for domestic and international research scholarships.
  • Establish and maintain cooperation with research centers in Poland and abroad.
