The School of Natural Sciences and the Discipline of Botany seek to appoint a tenure track position of Assistant Professor in Plant Physiology. The successful applicant will have an established reputation in teaching and research in the field of Plant Physiology and will be expected to contribute to both undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in this field and in interdisciplinary curricular teaching, supervision and mentoring in the broader areas of ecology and biodiversity, global environmental change, sustainability, and environmental science. We are particularly interested in candidates who’s teaching, and research are complimentary to or can strengthen existing fields of expertise within the diverse offerings in the Discipline of Botany within the School of Natural Sciences. These include, but are not limited to, soil science and plant carbon fluxes, global climate modelling with a focus on biosphere nutrient cycles and below ground processes, restoration ecology and rewilding, nature-based solutions, and plant-human interactions, plant taxonomy, diversity, and distribution with a focus on the dry tropical forests and grasslands, paleoecology and paleoclimatology, entomology, and mycology. Post Status Tenure Track – This position is Tenure Track position which is 5-years in the first instance, permanency is subject to satisfying the tenure requirements.
