The School of Physics invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor in Quantum Science. It is intended that the appointment will be made in one or more of the following areas of expertise: Quantum information science, quantum simulation, quantum computation, open quantum systems, or one of their subfields such as quantum metrology or quantum machine learning. The ideal candidates will have an established research profile in their respective specialist areas and have a strong publication record. They should provide evidence of clear impact in the field. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to teaching at both undergraduate level and in the MSc in Quantum Science and Technology. The appointment form part of a large effort undertaken by the School of Physics and the larger ambition to create a Quantum Centre at Trinity College Dublin. This will include collaboration with other Irish research organizations and industry, with the vision of becoming the focal point for quantum research in Ireland. Post Status Tenure Track – This position is Tenure Track position which is 5-years in the first instance, permanency is subject to satisfying the tenure requirements.
