Offer DescriptionThe Vice-Rector in charge of the School of Social Sciences at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań announces a competition for one position of assistant professor in the group of research and teaching staff at the Faculty of Law and Administration, in the Department of Civil, Commercial and Insurance Law. The scope of academic research and teaching duties assigned to the candidate selected shall encompass family law.Where to apply E-mailuamprawo@amu.edu.plRequirementsResearch Field Juridical sciences » Other Education Level PhD or equivalentSkills/QualificationsThe competition is open to individuals who meet the requirements specified in Article 113 of the Law on Higher Education and Science of 20 July 2018 (Journal of Laws of 2024, item 1571, Article 113 as amended) and who meet the following requirements: * A doctoral degree (PhD) in legal sciences;
- Excellent knowledge of civil law, particulary family law, documented by scientific publications;
- Competence and experience in teaching family law at the academic level;
- Achievements in organizational work and in the popularization of scientific knowledge .
Required languages
- Polish – fluent
- English – fluent;
- Proficiency (at least good command) in at least one of the following languages: German, French, Spanish, or Italian.
Specific RequirementsRequired: * Authorship or co-authorship of scientific publications in the field of civil law, particularly family law, published in peer-reviewed (pointed) journals or academic publishers;
- Documented conference activity;
- Experience in academic-level teaching in the field of civil law, especially family law.
Preferred: * Experience in working within research teams;
- Documented activity in obtaining research grants;

Eligibility criteria
- Publications confirming expertise in civil law, particularly family law (0-10)
- Conference activity (0-3)
- Experience in working within research teams (0-1)
- Grant activity (0-1)
- Experience in academic-level teaching in the field of civil law, especially family law (0-10)
- Organizational achievements and contributions to science popularization (0-3)
- Vision for academic development focused on family law (presented in a research plan and during the interview) (0-10)
Selection process
- Competition committee begins working no later than 14 days after the deadline for submission of documents.
- Formal evaluation of submitted proposals.
- Call to provide additional or missing documents if necessary.
- Selection of candidates for the interview stage.
- Interviews for candidates who meet the formal requirements.
- The committee has the right to request external reviews of candidates’ work or to ask candidates to conduct teaching assignments with an opportunity for student evaluation.
- The chair of the competition committee announces the results and informs the candidates. This information will include justification with a reference to candidates’ strengths and weaknesses. Submitted documents will be sent back to candidates.
