At the Department of Culture and Learning, Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, Aalborg University (campus Aalborg), a three-year full-time assistant professor position in the field of IT and Learning is available from 1 August 2025, or as soon as possible hereafter.JobbeskrivelseThe position is affiliated with the department’s research group IT and Learning Design(L-ILD) and the associated research laboratory, Xlab. The L-ILD research group focuses on cross-disciplinary activities that unite diverse approaches to IT and design in various learning contexts. The candidate is expected to contribute to research within L-ILD and Xlab, with a focus on learning, digital technologies, design or innovation. We seek a candidate with a strong interdisciplinary background in technology and learning. This could include competencies such as: computational methods, social data science methods, or other competencies that allow an innovation-driven approach to problem-solving through learning.Applicants should demonstrate research experience in the interdisciplinary field of technology and learning, covering one or more of the following areas:
- Learning and development of digital skills, technological literacy, computational thinking
- Technology integration in educational settings, for instance, generative AI and learning analytic tools
- Digital transformation and organizational change
- Interaction design and development of digital technologies for a learning context
The teaching obligations will primarily be placed within the department’s educational programs, in particular within the MSc in Information Technology, Specializing in ICT, Learning and Organizational Change(ILOO). The successful candidate should demonstrate an ability to teach in this area. The program is given in Danish, so proficiency in Danish or another Scandinavian language is expected. Experience with problem based learning(PBL) will be considered an advantage. So will teaching in fields related to programming, computational thinking, IT-didactic design as well as IT and organizational change.Assistant professorship
A position as assistant professor is a fixed-term training position which includes an obligation to carry out research and teaching activities. To a limited extent, additional tasks may be defined by the University. The appointment includes a requirement to attend a course in university pedagogy for assistant professors organised by the University.The employment as assistant professor must not exceed a total period of four years at the same institution.Qualification requirements
