Oracle Life Sciences has a vacancy for a 6-month trainee position of Assistant Research Analyst (Data scientist) with a background in healthcare and medical research. Reporting to a Project Manager, you will work primarily on international quantitative healthcare related projects using secondary data.

Committed to client service and research excellence, you will be expected to support the project team to deliver on client requests. To be successful, this person, in conjunction with the project team, will be fully involved in all the stages of research studies, from the study set up to the final delivery/report and will be a key player in the analysis of the studies.

You will have the opportunity to go beyond local data and work on data analysis and synthesis in studies with one or multiple existing data sources across all continents.

Qualifications and expectations

  • You are enrolled in a master’s program in Biostatistics, and Engineering school in Statistics, Data Science, or equivalent.
  • You have good knowledge of programming, and hands-on knowledge of statistical analysis software e.g., SAS, Python, R or similar. (Knowledge of SAS software and SQL is preferred).
  • Knowledge of Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence is a plus.
  • Ease with Microsoft Office pack (Word, Excel, PPT).
  • Fluent level of English (Oral and Written).
  • You are inquisitive minded and show organization, self-motivation and autonomy.
  • Ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, share knowledge and work together to drive research excellence.
  • Passionate about Healthcare, Life Sciences and Data.

Mission

  • In close collaboration with your manager, your will be involved on topics related to the design and implementation of Real-World secondary data studies.
  • Participate in protocol development activities, including background research, sample size calculation, data management plan, definition of study outcomes and variables, statistical analysis methodology, etc.
  • Write Statistical Analysis Plans (SAP) and design Table Shells (Mock-up result tables).
  • Write and maintain programming specifications.
  • Develop programs (using SAS or another statistical package) to generate summary tables, data listings, graphs and derived datasets as specified in the statistical analysis plan and programming specifications.
  • Participate in the development or validation of standard tools for data analysis (e.g., SAS macros or equivalent).
  • Perform quality check of programming and outputs and ensure they meet quality standards and project requirements.
  • Participate in preparing final deliverables and results dissemination, including final study reports, presentations, publications, etc.
