Middlesex University is an ambitious and progressive institution committed to empowering students and providing them with an educational experience that sets them up for success in life and work as we embark upon our 2031 University Strategy. Our triple intensity approach is focussed around Education, Research & Knowledge Exchange and Engagement. Based in North London and building on a proud history, our vision is to be a truly 21st century Global University.

The University has over 38,000 students studying in London and at campuses in Dubai and Mauritius and over 274,000 alumni. The University’s diversity of experience and vibrancy are signature strengths that underpin all we do.

We are now seeking to appoint a senior academic who has recent experience of leading or being significantly involved in the AACSB accreditation process. This person will take an active lead role in supporting the Dean to achieve this accreditation ambition working with the Heads of Department throughout the Business School. We are seeking an ambitious and innovative academic leader who will support either the ‘Marketing, Enterprise and Tourism’ Department or the ‘Strategy, Leadership and Operations’ Department. An academic track record in digital marketing, operations management or aligned analytics would be particularly desirable.

The post holder will engage in a range of teaching, leadership, research and knowledge exchange activities commensurate with the substantive academic position held. This role will also report into the Senior Leadership Team to implement and realise our vision and ensure we deliver our ambitions around the triple intensity holistic strategy. The post holder will work across the Business School and with four other Heads of Department in the Faculty, two Deputy Deans, a Faculty Manager and the Dean to provide leadership and management around our AACSB strategy.

This is an exciting time to be joining Middlesex with a strong leadership, clarity of focus and a determination to deliver positive change across the University. The Faculty of Business and Law is well placed with an excellent REF21 profile, a refreshing suite of programmes, significant industry connections and a dedicated team of staff.

This position is a full-time 1 FTE post. This appointment will be for the role of either Senior Lecturer or Associate Professor, depending on experience, with the AACSB Academic Lead position being initially for three years with a view to extend. The AACSB Academic Lead element of this role will equate to 0.4FTE of your time initially. Following this the successful candidate will revert to the full-time substantive post of either Senior Lecturer or Associate Professor.

Applicants will be expected to demonstrate strong evidence of successfully leading an accreditation cycle either to initial accreditation or reaccreditation and developing systems to capture the required data working with our accreditation admin officer. You should also develop a collegial and collaborative academic environment.

If you would like to discuss this role further then please contact Professor Martin Broad – Dean for the Faculty of Business and Law [email protected]
