Offer DescriptionLa Rochelle University is starting its recruitment campaign for tenured lecturer-researchers for the start of the 2025-2026 academic year!The position is to be filled within the department Génie Biologique of the IUT of La Rochelle and the Centre d’Etudes Biologiques de Chizé.Teaching activities
The bioengineering Department of the Technological Institute of La Rochelle offers a Bachelor degree, the University Bachelor of Technology (BUT) in Biological Engineering, with two options, Food Science and Biotechnology (SAB) and Medical Biology and Biotechnology (BMB). This program encompasses about 260 students over a three-year training.
The recruited person will be involved in the three-year degree teaching in the two options, BMB as well as SAB, covering lectures, tutorials (TD) and practicals. The candidate should have strong knowledge and skills in general biology, cellular biology, molecular biology, biochemistry and scientific communication.
The modules comply with the National Curriculum:Most of the teaching part is devoted to Learning and Assessing Situations (SAE), thus a strong experience in managing and supervising projects is required.
Besides, the teacher will have to take in part in the internship tutoring and in the life of the Bioengineering Department whether it be in administrative tasks, communication policy – events, open days- or interaction with local companies, optimizing thus the department’s functioning.
A teaching experience is compulsory and the ability to speak fluent English and to teach in English would be a plus.Research activities
The recruited associate professor will conduct his/her research at the Centre d’Etudes Biologiques de Chizé (CEBC) on the physiological and fitness consequences of exposure to emerging contaminants (pharmaceuticals and/or per- and polyfluoroalkylated substance, PFAS) in wildlife. The successful candidate will use the “BiodiStress” experimental facilities and the CEBC’s biological analysis platform, enabling an experimental approach under controlled conditions. Study models will be wild vertebrates (amphibians, reptiles, birds, mammals). The focus will be on the links between exposure to these emerging pollutants and endocrine disruption, neurophysiological responses, dysfunction of the gut microbiome and consequences for development and reproduction.
