About the Role

The automation proposals engineer is responsible for identifying and understanding customer needs, building strong relationships and providing tailored automation solutions. The role supports the sales strategy by collaborating closely with customers to drive business growth and ensure customer satisfaction. This position represents SPX FLOW comprehensive portfolio of automation solutions, including hardware, software and services, to deliver significant value to customers as well as competitive technical differentiation.

About Your Responsibilities

• Developing and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key stakeholders internally and at customer organizations.
• Understanding customer needs, challenges, and business objectives to propose appropriate automation solutions.
• Making automation and electrical quotes from the documents provided by engineers and sales technicians, using and supporting SPX FLOW A&E proposal tools
• Making customer trips to know the needs of customers on specific technical points,
• Providing sales support to sales managers during the presentation of customer quotes.
• Participating in the continuous improvement of internal quotation tools, and to proceed with the research of new automation products.
• Promoting global initiatives (e.g. tools, solutions, best practices, standardization) within the engineering team.
• Developing strategies for cost effective delivery.
• Presenting to customers, support sales with pursuit.
• Working with our technology suppliers like Rockwell and Siemens making sure our offer is using best fit technology with a customer focus on cost and value.

What You Need

• Degree level qualification in appropriate engineering discipline (e.g. Process, Mechanical, Electrical) 
• Experience of working within, and possibly also leading, a technically oriented team.
• Full driving license.
• Fluent English & French – both spoken and written.
• Strong understanding of automation systems, including PLCs, HMIs, drives, and SCADA systems.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as ability to convey complex technical information to non-technical audiences.
• Willingness to travel as needed to meet with customers and attend industry events.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills as well as good initiative and ability to work independently.
• Ability to meet high performance standards in a team whilst maintaining ethics and integrity.
• SAP experience beneficial.
