We’re looking for an enthusiastic Automation Engineer with solid knowlegde of base codes and standards.The focus is on development of a new installation in Belgium (Zeebrugge), concentrating on compression and land valve stations. The FEED phase will begin in Q1 2025 and will last approximately 10 months, with commercial operations planned by the end of 2029.

  • Within the project team, and in collaboration with your colleagues of process, piping and E&I, you will help to devise the regulation and monitoring of the new installation (basic and detailed design, precom/com and as built). You do this based on the project data, the dimensioning notes, the process notes and the applicable technical standards and codes.
  • You will advise on which codes and standards to be followed
  • Review and comment engineering documentation (such as data communication diagrams, functional analyses & descriptions, specifications, data sheets, specifications, test programs, etc) of the FEED contractor(s) linked to the automation discipline to make sure that the technical and functional requirements are sufficiently described and covered towards the EPCC CONTRACTOR. FEED documents will have to be reviewed in a short period of time.
  • You will help to integrate this new plant into the existing network.
  • You will assist the Engineering Manager and Project Leader during meetings with the FEED Contractor, vendors and/or EPCC Contractor.
  • During execution phase, he/she will evaluate whether the proposed control platform is in accordance with the FEED, assess and follow up the test plan, and assist the Owner with regard to the necessary documentation and spare parts.
  • He/she will follow relevant FAT/SAT/(pre-)commissioning at the vendor’s premises and at the construction site.
  • A minimum experience of 5 years in similar projects (reference list to be provided)
  • You have knowledge of process/instrumentation and some knowledge of PLCs and DCS systems (Siemens, ABB, Allen Bradley, …)
  • You are familiar with working with PFDs and P&IDs
  • Knowledge and experience within a (petro)chemical industrial environment is a plus.
  • He/she has a good knowledge of the English and Dutch or French language. Other languages are considered as a plus.
  • He/she is pragmatic and practical, is very communicative and efficient. A result-oriented service is paramount
