Description – Call for Expression of Interest for a joint application under the upcoming Call for MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships 2025University of Genoa, UNIGE, located in Genoa, ITALY, welcomes postdoctoral researchers of any nationality, with an excellent track record, to apply to the European Commission Marie Sklodowska-Curie (MSCA) Postdoctoral Fellowships 2025. Our University has been beneficiary of several MSCA-PF in Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe. The Marie Sklodowska Curie (MSCA) Postdoctoral Fellowship is one of funding scheme of the European Commission’s Horizon Europe Research & Innovation programme, dedicated to excellent research promoting international mobility, as well as interdisciplinary and intersectoral exchanges. MSCA fellowship grant provides a competitive salary plus mobility and family allowances if applicable, as well as a contribution to cover research, training and networking costs. The research projects will have 2- or 3-years duration.Selected candidates will be provided with special support for proposal writing and development.The University of Genoa will organize in May the fifth edition of the Masterclass MSCA@UniGe. Selectedcandidate researchers will have the opportunity to attend a 2-days online intensive training and coaching course on how to write a successful proposal. This masterclass is a pathway of support to candidates and their supervisors in preparing project proposal, including prescreening activity of the draft proposals and the organisation of dedicated B2B meetings, by the European Research Office of UniGe, National Contact Point and other experts.The masterclass will take place on May/June2025.More information:MSCA domain: Social Sciences and Humanities (SOC)Research Project DescriptionThe papyrological collections of the University of Genoa PUG (pug.unige.net) is the outcome of purchases at the Egyptian antiquarian market. Its first nucleus, acquired in the summer of 1954, is housed at the Department of Antiquity, Philosophy, and History, and includes more than two hundred fragments, mainly Greek documents of Roman and Byzantine eras, which are partly unpublished.The Postdoctoral fellowship candidate could:– collaborate in the decipherment and first edition of the fragments, as well as on the revision of the already published papyri, with a focus on specific typologies of documents– collaborate on research about the history of the collection within the international context of antiquity market of papyri in the second half of the XXI century.– collaborate in the conservation and valorization of the collectionResearch GroupThe papyrological collection is housed at the Department of Antiquity, Philosophy, and History of the University of Genoa. The department has a multidisciplinary environment and houses many international projects. The candidate will be involved in a small research group, which has a strong competence in Greek and Classical Philology, in a stimulating and favourable working environment for researchers.
