Company:
Job description
) at the University Institute for Social Sustainable Development of the Universidad de Cádiz welcomes expressions of interest from researchers seeking to apply for a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowship in the field of health misinformation. This project aims to examine the structural, algorithmic, and sociocultural drivers that enable the production, amplification, and circulation of health misinformation in digital ecosystems.By combining social and health data science the project will explore how misinformation spreads across social platforms, interacts with trust and authority, and contributes to public health risks. It seeks to uncover the roles played by algorithms, influencers, institutional distrust, and socio-digital inequalities in shaping public perceptions and behaviors related to health-especially in the context of vaccination, chronic illness, and emerging health threats. The project will also investigate how marginalized communities are disproportionately exposed to and affected by health misinformation, and how interventions can be designed to promote resilience and digital health literacy. We seek postdoctoral candidates with backgrounds in social or health data science, public health, STS (Science and Technology Studies), psychology, communication studies, or related fields. The CS2 DataLab offers an interdisciplinary environment with strong links to European networks and a commitment to research on social inequalities in health and health justice. Selected fellows will receive full support to develop a competitive MSCA proposal aligned with the Horizon Europe framework and global digital health agendas.Share this page
