About the role 

In this Careers Consultant role you will be based in the School of Economics and Finance supporting both undergraduates and postgraduates. You will work with a range of stakeholders and team members to deliver Careers and Enterprise’s plans through the design and delivery of effective careers education, information, advice and guidance. As a Careers Consultant will deliver a wide variety of services both in-person and remotely, through different media and channels. You will be teaching both inside and outside of the curriculum; designing and delivering careers presentations and interactive group work, as well as conducting one-to-one guidance appointments. 

About you 

We are looking for candidates with experience of higher education careers work or a related area such as graduate recruitment, training, graduate employment, coaching or advice and guidance.  

We would particularly welcome and encourage applicants with demonstrable knowledge and/or experience of the finance/ business sector. 

This role includes working with multiple internal and external colleagues and stakeholders, so relationship management skills are essential, as well as the ability to plan, a varied programme of work and measure the impact.   

About the Careers and Enterprise Team 

Its mission is to develop the employability of Queen Mary University of London students from their arrival at the university until three years after graduation. The team consists of around 54 FTE, working in partnership with academic schools and employers to provide an inclusive portfolio of careers support and opportunities to Queen Mary students and graduates.

The post is based in Mile End, in London. It is full-time permanent appointment. The starting salary will be Grade 5, in the range of £43,592 – £48,414 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.
