Job description

Purpose of the role:As Chief Accountant you will apply your leadership skills as well as your knowledge of the latest accounting laws and procedures in order ensure the accurate compilation and analysis of CWT Poland’s financial information.In this role you are also expected to be a proactive agent of change, making recommendations, improvement suggestions and spearhead any new process or tool implementations. This role also requires great diligence and attention to detail as you will provide data and documentation for internal and external auditsMain responsibilities:

  • Manage and supervise a team of five financial professionals
  • Lead and manage accounting operations
  • Supervise and monitor the accounting process including general ledger, accounts payables, accounts receivables, inventory, fixed assets and cash management
  • Prepare, file and sign VAT declarations and other reports to tax and statistical local authorities
  • Manage Transfer Pricing activity
  • Coordinate statutory audits with external auditors
  • Interact with Tax Authority/ Regulators and comply with any settlements
  • Conduct month-end close process and reconciliation of accounts
  • Prepare financial statements according to Polish Accounting Standards
  • Proactively work on improving accounting process
  • Act as an agent of change during times of transitions when new tools or systems come into play
  • Support Local Finance Management in ad-hoc requests and data gathering
  • Participate and provide support on Group initiatives/project

  • Fluent in Polish and English
  • Cerfitied Chartered Accountant
  • Degree in Accounting/Finance & other relevant certifications
  • Min. 3-5 years of experience in a similar role with people management responsibilities
  • Previous experience in a large multinational company
  • Strong operational experience with Polish accounting standards & VAT law
  • Experience using financial software systems (experience with Wings, Symphony, Trintech, Hyperion Financial management is preferred)
  • Fluency in MS Excel
  • Ability to liaise with different levels of management
  • Excellent communication skills, empathy and team spirit
  • Ability to multitask and work towards strict deadlines
  • Project Management skills
  • Previous experience in managing projects involving new system implementations, data transfers, general migrations
  • Experience with external auditing bodies & preparing for audits
  • Strong analytical skills & data mining
