Are you passionate about sustainability and driving positive change? We are seeking a dedicated
individual to support the development of Anglian Water’s circular economy strategy. As a
Circular Economy Delivery Manager, you will play a crucial role in achieving company targets by
developing and communicating innovative strategies for specific waste streams. Collaborate with
various business units to achieve zero waste to landfill and drive costs savings for the
business.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Chair internal & external Circular Economy Steering Groups with relevant stakeholders,
    providing regular updates via Lighthouse, to promote Anglian Water’s strategy, improve
    engagement, understanding and implementation across the business
  • Support the delivery of Circular Economy initiatives, both directly and through
    collaboration with others, to meet company Circular Economy targets
  • Arrange and chair the East of England Plastic Coalition (EEPC), with external stakeholders
    to raise awareness of the sources and prevalence of plastic pollution in the region.
  • Support Innovation to deliver business benefits from strategic studies/trials pertaining to
    Circular Economy initiatives
  • Support the Head of Circular Economy and the business in the evaluation of the impact of
    waste legislative or regulatory policy changes
  • Advise business, contractors and partners on best environmental practice and waste
    regulations
  • Identify, deliver and communicate cost savings to the business from effective negotiation
    with regulators and external companies by reviewing existing waste management and business
    practices
  • Continually seeking time and financial efficiencies in business practices relating to waste
    management
  • Assist with contract management with respect to waste management on operational sites
  • Provide regulatory expertise and act as chair on the Tankered Waste Compliance Group, to
    ensure environmental protection and customer service to internal stakeholders
  • Support the implementation of environmental waste standards and policies

What does it take to be successful?

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent experience gained through employment
  • Relevant experience in waste regulation/management
  • Proven environmental expertise and regulatory understanding regarding waste management
  • Demonstratable experience of working in the water industry, in a regulation/circular
    economy role
  • Demonstrate excellent negotiation skills
  • Plan, prioritise and organise projects so that deadlines are achieved in an effective and
    efficient manner
  • Skilled in tailoring your message to resonate with different audiences both internal and
    external
