Are you looking a new opportunity to share your skills and experience as a Cleaning Operative?
We are looking for a motivated individual and a background and experience in cleaning, to join our dedicated team.
The primary function of this post is to maintain the cleanliness of the rooms/spaces within buildings and maintaining sufficient supplies/replenishment of cleaning materials and consumables.
Duties will be split across the buildings at our waterside site and you will work as part of a small team to ensure hygiene standards are maintained and achieved across our sites.
We pride ourselves on delivering excellent customer service to all clients and staff and to act in a polite and professional manner.
This is a Part-time position working 15 hours a week in the evenings Monday to Friday.
The working hours are Monday – Friday 19:00 to 22:00. A uniform is provided.
We offer pro rata 21 days annual leave (rising to 26 days after 5 years continuous service) bank holidays plus 3 closed days at Christmas.

University of Northampton is an accredited training member of BICSc institute a desired but not an essential requirement for this post. We will provide full training for all successful applicants. You may already have a current BICSc qualification and a track record of working within the cleaning industry and this would be a good opportunity to develop further to national certifications on all 4 levels of BICSc LTP foundation, level 1, level 2 and level 3.
We are an accredited Living Wage Foundation Employer and currently pay the real living wage. In recognition of this, the salary for this post has been increased to pay the higher amount which currently supersedes the actual Grade 2 salary before living wage which is £20,092 per annum pro rata.
About You
We are seeking an experienced cleaner that has preferably worked within an education or hospital environment. This is not essential as we will consider applicants from other sectors.
- You should be a conscientious worker that sets high standards in your work
- The ideal candidate should have knowledge of cleaning products in use and experience of mixing cleaning chemicals and selecting the correct one for the task
Qualifications
Desirable:
- BICS Operators Proficiency Certificate Stage 1 or willing to work towards qualification
