About the role
This maternity cover post is an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified person to be a part of a dynamic multi-disciplinary team engaged in the delivery of cutting-edge clinical trials. The post is based in the HOPE Cancer Trials Centre at the Leicester Royal Infirmary and will have a significant role in the Leicester Cancer Research Centre, BRC and Experimental Cancer Medicine Centre. Interacting with the Clinical Trial Quality Manager, research nurses and research assistants, the Clinical Trials Co-ordinator will look after a portfolio of Phase 1, 2 and 3 oncology and haematological trials in accordance with trial protocols, ethics, regulatory approvals etc and have an important role in archiving and audit.
About you
Working alongside the Quality Assurance Manager and Senior Nurses, the Clinical Trials Co-ordinator will be an integral part of the trial management team, providing detailed support and advice across their trial portfolio. The Clinical Trials Co-ordinator will work with multiple stakeholders both within and outwith the Centre to deliver the full range of trial co-ordination activities in accordance with protocols, ethics, regulatory approvals, EU directives and UK legislation, encompassing enrolment, registering, randomisation, checking eligibility, protocol amendments and completing annual reports. Experience of working in clinical trials, either in an administrative or research capacity is essential as you will support clinical trial sample preparation activity including centrifugation, pipetting and slide preparation.
