About The Role

We bring awe-inspiring nature up close and let it do the talking. Our Living Collection team is
responsible for the care, breeding and welfare of WWT’s collection birds and the rearing of
their young.

We are looking for an engaging keeper to join our Living Collection team. Working alongside the
vegetation keeper and collection manager you will provide our animals with the highest
standards of welfare. You will also play a key role in helping your animals thrill and delight
visitors, whilst helping them to understand that wetlands are both under threat and are a
nature-based superpower against climate change.

You will take on ownership of designing, developing and maintaining the infrastructure of all collection areas. This is a great opportunity to work directly with the birds and gain valuable experience in grounds maintenance, animal husbandry and conservation. This is a permanent full time role working 5 days out of 7, including some weekends and bank holidays.

About You

To join as our Collection and Maintenance Keeper you’ll bring:

  • Previous animal care experience.
  • Competence in the use of tolls to maintain infrastructure e.g fencing, waterflow and animal
    housing.
  • confident and open communication skills
  • great observation skills and the ability to work under instruction whilst using own
    initiative

If this sounds like you, and you would like to be part of a positive and collaborative team
then please read the job description to find out more. We would love to hear from you.
