We are seeking to appoint a highly-motivated, experienced and professional individual to the new role of Communications Officer within the Radcliffe Department of Medicine’s Strategic team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is enthusiastic about promoting world-leading scientific research to external audiences and ensuring effective internal dissemination of information within a large, multi-site Department.

Reporting to RDM’s Head of Communications, you will be responsible for supporting the delivery of all communications at RDM in line with the Department’s communications strategy. You will develop content for internal and external communications, including identifying opportunities for promoting the Department’s work in the media or other outlets, and maintaining the Department’s website. Planning and organising departmental events with RDM Strategic colleagues is also a part of this role. You’ll have the opportunity to work with academic and professional members of the Department, building strong relationships across RDM, as well as with Medical Sciences Communications and the Public Affairs Directorate.

Educated to degree level and ideally with knowledge of or interest in medical sciences, you will have extensive communications experience in print, digital and social media. You will bring proven experience in producing effective web content, excellent writing skills and attention to detail, with a demonstrable ability to communicate complex concepts to a non-specialist audience.

This is a permanent position available on a full-time basis.

Applications for this vacancy are to be made online. For further details, including selection criteria, please see the attached job description.

You will be required to upload a CV and supporting statement as part of your online application.

The closing date for this position is midday on Friday 5 January 2024 and in-person interviews are due to be held on 22 January 2024.

Committed to equality and valuing diversity.
