Scottish Borders Climate Action Network (SBCAN) are recruiting a
Communications Officer to help establish a community climate action support
programme to cover the full extent of the Scottish Borders.

The programme’s aim is to reach out to and enable local communities to act on climate change,
make it easier to share ideas and experience, and ensure resources get channelled to where it
matters most.

We are looking for three committed and dynamic people, who are driven by a strong desire to
make a positive difference. You will share our ambition for a thriving, green, net zero and
resilient Scottish Borders that provides a secure and attractive place to live across all walks
of life. The work will be collaborative, responding to local needs, innovative ideas and
circumstances. The roles have been loosely defined around key deliverables, but flexibility
will be important.

SBCAN has been awarded funding from Scottish Government initially for 6 months, but we expect
this to be extended. The posts will be hosted by the Southern Uplands Partnership for the time
being. Full job descriptions and an application form are available at www.sup.org.uk.

Closing date is 22nd September.
