Applications are invited for 2 full time posts that will enable the Trust to continue the delivery of Respiratory services across the primary/secondary care interface, support delivery of acute care for respiratory patients and achieve waiting time targets for outpatients and emergency care.Applicants are required to hold Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (UK or equivalent qualifications), to be fully registered with the General Medical Council, and to be on the Specialist Register for General and Thoracic Medicine, completed CCT or due to obtain their CCT within six months of the date of interview, or Certificate of Eligibility to specialist register CESR, or European Community RightsAn Enhanced DBS with barred lists for both Adults & Children is required for this post.Interviews will take place on Wednesday 27th August, 2025Main duties of the jobSuccessful candidates will complement existing lung cancer team and support developing new specialist services in Asthma, ILD and sleep medicine.Weekday on call commitment. The weekday on call rota (Respiratory only) will be a 1 in 13 providing telephone advice between the hours of 5pm and 9am.Weekend on call commitments. The weekend rota will be a 1 in 6.5 with structured daily commitments both Saturday and Sunday. There is a 30-bed Stroke Unit which accommodates both acute stroke patients and those with rehabilitation needs.St Helens HospitalSt Helens Hospital is an Ambulatory Care Centre providing Intermediate Care and Day Surgery. Rheumatology, Dermatology and Diabetes services are based on this site and within easy reach of other acute specialties at Whiston Hospital.Southport HospitalSouthport Hospital is a General Hospital that includes adults accident and emergency services, intensive care, and a range of medical and surgical specialities. There is also an outpatients service.
