Your roleWanted: proactive communication talentIn the highly dynamic environment of retail and MediaMarkt, you will help develop and implement an effective and quality communication policy. We are looking for both a creative talent with strong relationship skills to help us take PR and other external communications to the next level, and a connector to help further shape internal communications.In short, you build external (media) contacts, you create, advise, write, coordinate.This is what your day looks like
- You regularly initiate appointments and interviews with new or existing media contacts (journalists, bloggers, influencers) and other external stakeholders in order to consistently spread MediaMarkt’s story and build our ecosystem;
- You write newsworthy and catchy press releases, LinkedIn posts and other external communications;
- You are creative and have a strong affinity with social media and new forms of content (from video to podcast) and technology (e.g. AI);
- You work closely with other departments (e.g. marketing, HR and store managers) to pick up stories from the business and deliver a unified and engaging message;
- You will also help strengthen internal engagement with employees at headquarters and in stores;
- Together with the team, you will develop new formats and/or improve existing ones to convey messages in a lively way with impact.
The teamThe Corporate Communications team currently consists of one head, two managers and an intern. The team works for the entire Benelux and is occasionally also deployed for the group’s international projects. Corporate Communications falls directly under the CEO of the Benelux.Who are you?We are looking for an entrepreneurial, social and creative all-round communication specialist with a strong sense of external communication. You can easily translate strategy into execution. You write easily, are flexible and have a ‘thing’ about the wonderful world of retail.

What do you bring?
- Academic working and thinking level, preferably in the direction of communication or journalism
- At least 3-5 years of relevant work experience
- Strong writer
- Fluent in Dutch and English
- Command of the French language is an advantage
