Your new role

As our Crystallization Development Engineer/Particle Characterization Specialist, you will develop robust crystallization processes and ensuring the precise characterization of solid-state materials, particularly in terms of their particle size. Your experience will help shape the development of therapies that address significant unmet needs in brain health.

You will:

-Design data-rich experiments in the context of crystallization process design of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) and interpret the gathered results.
-Investigate and optimize crystallization parameters to achieve desired attributes of active pharmaceutical ingredients.
-Perform solid-state material characterization, including particle size distribution, morphology, and polymorphic form. Some of these analyses will be conducted according to cGMP.
-Propose innovative approaches to address complex scientific questions and explore new modeling techniques for crystallization processes.
-Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across R&D and CMC to ensure alignment with project goals.

The Solid Form Science department is part of Chemistry, Manufacturing, and Controls (CMC) and is located in Copenhagen, Denmark.

What you bring to the team

We are looking for a highly motivated professional with:

-A PhD in a physical science (e.g., chemical engineering, chemistry, pharmaceutics) or a related discipline
-Practical experience in solid-state material characterization or crystallization process development of small molecules is beneficial.
-Experience in designing data-rich experiments and interpreting results using modeling methodologies.
-Proficiency in designing and delivering experimental plans for crystallization processes, using advanced process analytical tools.
-An innovative thinker with a track record of proposing novel solutions to complex scientific problems.
-Strong organizational skills, with the ability to balance multiple activities, prioritize evolving project needs, and navigate ambiguity.
-A collaborative and innovative mindset, with effective communication skills to engage clearly with cross-functional teams.
