DescriptionPosition at EF Educational ToursWe’re seeking a Data Engineer to develop, implement, and maintain our modern data infrastructure. Together with the Data Platform team, you’ll collaborate with Engineering and Product Management to streamline operations, support users, implement AIOps, and scale cloud infrastructure. This role requires expertise in Snowflake, DBT Cloud, and Python to drive automation, monitoring, and governance. The core technologies that you’ll be working with are:
- Snowflake, DBT Cloud, FiveTran, Prefect
- Python (especially Streamlit and Pandas)
- SQL (especially Snowflake’s flavor)
- Git and CI/CD pipelines
What you’ll doInfrastructure & Automation
- Implement Snowflake monitoring, alerts, and cost management
- Troubleshoot transformation pipelines and automate governance
- Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines across data repositories
- Assist in the transition from legacy MS SQL Server to Snowflake by developing migration automation and ensuring data integrity.
Innovation & Operations
- Implement AIOps to enhance platform intelligence and proactively address issues
- Build self-service tools and automation frameworks to streamline data workflows and reduce manual intervention.
- Create dashboards for system usage, health, security, and cost monitoring
- Identify and implement workflow enhancements
Support & Administration
- Develop training materials and conduct onboarding sessions for engineers and analysts to maximize adoption of data platform tools.
- Participate in on-call rotation for system support
- Collaborate with engineering and analytics teams to troubleshoot workflows
- Collaborate with IT to scale cloud infrastructure as needed
Who you are
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field
- 3+ years of data engineering and systems administration experience
- Strong SQL skills, with a preference for Snowflake experience, including performance tuning and optimization.
- Experience with modern data stack components (Prefect, DBT, FiveTran, Pandas)
- Knowledge of CI/CD tools (Jenkins, CircleCI, GitLab CI, or e)quivalent)
- Experience with AI-assisted development tools (a plus)
- Ability to partner with engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to develop scalable and accessible data solutions.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to troubleshoot, optimize, and innovate in a fast-paced environment.
