Join BESTSELLER in the journey towards analytical maturity and excellence.As a data engineer in the Data & Analytics department at BESTSELLER you will play a pivotal role in enabling data-driven decision-making across all our brands by designing, building, and optimizing modern data products. You will contribute to our data transformation journey, migrating from a legacy SQL-based warehouse to scalable, cloud-based data-mesh architecture using Snowflake, DBT, and Airflow.YOUR TEAM
You will join our B2C Analytics Retail team, who is located across Aarhus and Amsterdam. We are a team dedicated to empowering retail teams across 20+ brands with cutting-edge data solutions. Our Data & Analytics department consists of 50+ colleagues passionate about driving the data agenda at BESTSELLER. You will play a significant role in maintaining and further developing our current solutions and in transforming our current data warehouse environment into a more future-proof data mesh setup. Our everyday work is made up of data analysis, data integration, and project-based tasks, all done in close collaboration with a diverse range of internal stakeholders.Furthermore, your responsibilities will include:

  • Taking part in the migration of our legacy SQL-based data warehouse and data products to a new platform on Snowflake using DBT and Airflow.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Designing and implementing data pipelines, ETL processes, and data models to support business needs.
  • Monitoring and optimizing data warehouse performance and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Developing and implementing data governance policies to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and security.
  • Staying up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies in data engineering and cloud computing to optimize and standardize our data engineering processes in accordance with best practices.

YOUR PROFILE

  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, with relevant experience in data engineering and architecture.
  • Expertise in Azure technologies such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Functions, and Azure Databricks.
  • Expertise in SQL Server – including the ability to write stored procedures, views, and functions, with hands-on experience in data pipelines and CI/CD principles.
  • Experience with Snowflake, DBT, and Docker, along with knowledge of Airflow or similar workflow management tools is a plus.
  • Fluency in English, both spoken and written.
