We are seeking a Data and GIS Officer to join the Evidence and Planning team in our Nature
Recovery and Operations Directorate.

Data & GIS Officer

Salary: £23,874 – £30,509

Contract type: Fixed term

Working hours: Full time

Location: Cheshire, A Cheshire Wildlife Trust operational base

You will use GIS software, statistical packages and relevant tools to analyse spatial and
biodiversity data to improve our understanding of wildlife in the Cheshire region. You will
maintain and manage spatial and biodiversity data to ensure we have a robust evidence base to
help inform project delivery, management and landscape-scale visioning. This crucial work will
enable the Trust and others, to make decisions informed by the best available evidence.

The role is perfect for those who have an interest in wildlife conservation and are wanting to
apply their analytical skills to improve our understanding of the natural world and to help
make a real difference on the ground.

The ideal candidate will be a confident and frequent user of Geographical Information Systems
and have experience of collating and analysing data using different approaches. They will be
able to carry out statistical and data analyses and will be familiar with ecological and/or
environmental modelling.

This is a fixed term one year position, with potential to extend subject to funding – full time
or part time considered.
