The position

As our Data Governance and Compliance Specialist you will be part of the newly established Clinical Data Governance department in Clinical Data Operations & Insights. Based in Søborg, Denmark, you will report to the Vice President of Clinical Data Governance.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of data governance principles and practices, as well as data privacy, and legal and contractual requirements related to data management.

The responsibility includes:

-Develop and implement data governance and data privacy policies and procedures
-Ensuring audit readiness (compliance with legal and contractual requirements)
-Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to ensure data management practices are aligned with legal and contractual obligations
-Lead prioritised strategic projects, as agreed with leadership, to future-proof the processes applied for responsible use of data
-Provide guidance and training to employees on data governance and compliance best practices
-Monitor data usage and access to ensure compliance with policies and regulations
-Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant laws and regulations related to data governance and privacy
 

Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you should have:

-Education in a relevant field (e.g., Information Management, Business Administration, Legal Studies)
-6+ years of experience in data governance and compliance, with an understanding of legal and contractual aspects of data management
-Strong knowledge of data governance principles and practices
-Operational understanding of legal and security compliance frameworks and data management principles
-Familiarity with relevant laws and regulations related to data governance and privacy e.g., GDPR
-CIPP/E certification is a plus
-Excellent communication and collaboration skills
-Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
-Fluency in both oral and written English
-Experience in the pharmaceutical industry and life sciences is a plus
 

About the Clinical Data Operations & Insights department

We currently have almost 400 colleagues in Clinical Data Operations & Insights – across Denmark, India, North America, and Spain. We are responsible for collecting, processing, and delivering all Novo Nordisk clinical data for further use and analysis as well as for regulatory submissions.
