Data Scientist
Location: Hybrid (Eindhoven + Remote)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Data Scientist to join an innovative and rapidly growing health tech company dedicated to revolutionising the treatment of bacterial infections. Their flagship product, a rapid antibiotic susceptibility testing device, aims to transform infection management and improve patient outcomes.

About the Role
In this role, you’ll play a pivotal part in transforming raw clinical data into actionable insights, developing algorithms for predictive analytics, and contributing to the development of cutting-edge diagnostic tools. You will be responsible for data analysis, machine learning, algorithm development, feature engineering, and model validation, with a strong focus on improving the diagnostic capabilities of the company’s products.

Key Responsibilities

* Conduct R&D to generate data for training algorithms.
* Lead analysis of complex datasets, including clinical data, using statistical and machine learning techniques.
* Develop and refine algorithms for diagnosis, risk prediction, and treatment response.
* Engineer features from raw data to improve model performance.
* Validate models and algorithms to assess accuracy and predictive performance.
* Create data visualisations to communicate results and insights effectively.

Required Qualifications

* Master’s degree in data science, computer science, bioinformatics, biomedical engineering, or related field.
* 3+ years of experience in a similar role.
* Proficiency in Python, R, SQL, and data manipulation.
* Experience with machine learning, including supervised and unsupervised learning, classification, and regression.
* Ability to create data visualisations using tools like Matplotlib, Seaborn, or ggplot2.
* Fluency in English.
* Interest in experimental work with bacteria in a lab setting.

Preferred Qualifications

* Familiarity with in-vitro diagnostics and microbiology.
* Good communication skills for non-technical stakeholders.
* Passion for working in a dynamic, young company environment.
