It is an exciting time to work with the White Rose Forest. From protecting our natural
environment to improving the health and wellbeing of our local communities and mitigate against
the impacts of the climate emergency, the role of England’s Community Forests and tree planting
has never been more important. The White Rose Forest is also helping to deliver the larger
Northern Forest that will stretch from Liverpool to the Yorkshire coast.
We have support and funding in place from across local and national Government and our
respective partnerships, and we have set ambitious targets to plant millions of trees across
our part of Yorkshire over the next few years.
To help us achieve these targets we are now recruiting a Delivery Support Officer to support
our tree planting and woodland creation work with landowners and communities across North and
West Yorkshire.
In this newly created role, you will join a friendly, hard-working, and dynamic team who are
passionate about trees and woodlands and the multiple benefits they bring.
A key part of this role will be to collate, analyse, produce and present information on the
delivery of the programme, including internal and external reporting. You will be required to
use the Microsoft suite of applications and specialist software packages.
You will undertake reviews of data completeness and quality, completing any housekeeping and
liaising with team members and external stakeholders to resolve issues, ensuring that good
quality, relevant and timely information is available to demonstrate programme delivery and
inform effective decision making.
You will help to identify opportunities for improvement to systems and processes (including
automation) and support the implementation of agreed changes, working with the GIS & Data
Manager and delivery team colleagues.
The primary focus of the Delivery Support Officer role will be to provide support to the
Programme Manager and team of Project Managers and Project Officers, but they will also work
flexibly with colleagues across the wider team as needed (e.g. communications, contracts and
grants, GIS and data, planning etc).
To be successful within the role, you will require sound, previous experience within a similar
project support role, with demonstrable experience of effectively working as part of a
multi-disciplinary team across different technical areas.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are a must. You will also be required
to have high level analytical and numerical skills to evaluate and interpret data to produce
clear reporting.
The Delivery Support Officer, as with all members of the central WRF team, will work from home
without an office base, however, there is the requirement to attend locations spread across
North and West Yorkshire as required by the needs of the organisation. You will therefore
require a driving licence, or the ability to travel to such locations.
In return, during your time with WRF, you will receive a competitive rate of pay, 33 days
annual leave each year (including bank holidays), enhanced sick pay provisions, enrolment into
the pension scheme plus other benefits, including working with an experienced and passionate
Team.
