An opportunity has arisen within the Medical Care Group for a Deputy General Manager of Acute Medicine and Older People’s services.We are a large and innovative directorate, delivering same day emergency care, key assessment units, inpatient wards, and care in the community.The postholder will be expected to work flexibly with the other Deputy General Manager for Acute Medicine and Older People’s services, as determined by business need.Base Location: Royal Bournemouth and Poole Hospital, cross site working will be requiredInterview Date: TBCMain duties of the jobAs UHD moves to a split between urgent care and planned care over the next 18 months, this postholder will be critical in delivering key changes to the medical pathways to maintain safe and effective patient flow. We need a postholder who can focus on the the day-to-day operational pressures, while also thinking strategically about transformation and service improvement, working flexibly with other internal and external partners to drive forward the right changes for patients and staff.The post holder will be required to work across all sites within UHD.   • Masters’ degree or equivalent relevant experience to the role or demonstrable equivalent working experience.
  • Management qualification.

  • Extensive line management and problem solving experience.
  • Successful change management experience.
