Project Overview

Bechtel and Westinghouse Electric Company have partnered to deliver the first nuclear power reactors in Poland for our customer, the Polish Entity Polskie Elektrownie Jadrowe (PEJ). Bechtel will be the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contractor for the project. As the EPC, our responsibilities will include providing the design for the Turbine Island and Balance of Plant as well as the construction of the entire facility.

This is a one-of-a-kind opportunity, and we are looking for the talent that will help expand Poland’s nuclear base and build a strong and long-lasting energy future for generations to come. 

Position Summary:

Provides assistance to the Project Supply Chain Manager as directed to plan, manage and/or coordinate Supply Chain activities on the Poland AP1000 project.

Responsibilities:

-Assists the Project Supply Chain Manager with managing the assigned project Supply Chain functional personnel in their performance of Supply Chain operations for the project. May perform certain functional tasks as required by complexity and workload.
-Participates with the project team in assigned tasks involved with defining and developing the scope of Supply Chain work, and in preparing and coordinating Supply Chain plans, procedures, schedules, estimates, forecasts, and budgets. Coordinates Supply Chain operations in the project and field offices and support offices to ensure compliance with project requirements.
-Assists the Project Supply Chain Manager as directed in the development of:
-General and special conditions for use on all project subcontract and purchase documents, ensuring that requirements of the prime contract are incorporated.
-Supply Chain work hour requests with the assistance of functional personnel, including associated monitoring for compliance, evaluation and approval of charges.
-Supply Chain presentations to project and/or client personnel
-Project Supply Chain staffing plans, including coordination with global business unit functional managers, orientation and training, particularly in project-unique requirements.
-The project Supply Chain procedures, in conjunction with global business unit functional management
-The material assignment schedule and division of responsibility.
-Supply Chain plans that complement Engineering and Construction plans to ensure that all disciplines have a consistent execution strategy, enabling Supply Chain to perform its functions.
-Supply Chain status reports to client, Project and global business unit Management.
-Engages with local vendors and suppliers in support of the project.
-Reviews commitment recommendations in accordance with Supply Chain policies and procedures, approving those within delegated authority. Ensures recommendations received required NS&E and client reviews and approvals.
-Monitors and evaluates performance of assigned project Supply Chain personnel.
-Collaborates with responsible functional Supply Chain managers on personnel development planning.
-Supports complex negotiations.
-Travel within the country, travel to local and regional supplier and subcontractor facilities, travel to the jobsite and travel to the US is required.

Basic Qualifications:

-Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in a related field, with a minimum 15 years of professional experience. In lieu of degree, high school diploma and 21 years of professional experience.
Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with and knowledge of Supply Chain operations, including Contracts, Purchasing, Inspection, Expediting, Traffic & Logistics, and field materials management.
-Skilled in the supervision of personnel and all aspects that are involved with total personnel administration, such as requisitioning, interviewing, annual reviews, development or monitoring of mandatory training course completion, and career discussions and development.
-Skilled in oral and written communications.
-Skilled in public speaking and presentations.
-Competent in Microsoft Office Suite (competency screening may be required).
