Production Equipment UC is a leading industrial distributor supplying over 80,000 products to customers across Europe.We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Custom Development Lead to oversee the design, implementation, and delivery of bespoke software solutions across the organization. This role requires a strong development background combined with excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills. You will be responsible for working closely with internal teams, external developers, and customers to ensure high-quality, modern, and scalable solutions are delivered on time and within scope.Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate custom software development projects across multiple departments and teams.
  • Collaborate directly with customers and internal stakeholders to gather, document, and refine business requirements.
  • Translate customer needs into technical specifications and actionable development plans.
  • Oversee internal and external development teams, ensuring adherence to best practices and coding standards.
  • Ensure projects are delivered using up-to-date development methodologies (e.g., Agile, DevOps, CI/CD).
  • Conduct code reviews, provide technical guidance, and mentor developers as needed.
  • Track project milestones, deliverables, and timelines, reporting status updates to the Head of IT.
  • Assess and implement tools, frameworks, and technologies to improve development efficiency and quality.
  • Ensure solutions are robust, secure, scalable, and meet defined quality standards.
  • Manage risks, troubleshoot issues, and resolve blockers across multiple projects.

Qualifications:Education:

  • Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Project management or Agile certifications (e.g., Scrum Master, PMP).
  • Background in developing or overseeing enterprise-grade applications or platforms.

Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience in software development (e.g., .NET, JavaScript, Python, or similar).
  • Experience managing or leading development teams or projects.
  • Strong understanding of modern development practices, architecture, and lifecycle management.
  • Ability to translate business needs into technical solutions and manage the development process end-to-end.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interface with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Familiarity with source control (e.g., Git), issue tracking tools (e.g., Jira), and development pipelines.
