DevOps Engineer, Offer/Nevio – Product Catalogue
Business Environment
The Airline Solutions Engineering division, part of Travel Unit, is accountable for the optimal delivery of the technology and solutions required to achieve the Airline Solutions business objectives. The group encompasses under the same umbrella several domains and a large set of activities: Offer, Order and Traveler Touchpoints & Experience (former Digital for Airlines), Services, and Transversal R&D. Within Airline Solutions Engineering, Offer is responsible of IT solutions for airlines: we are building offers both adapted to the end-user (with the right price and flexibility) and that maximizes airlines revenue.
The area is tech-savvy! We build upon technology: Performance for example is key to make sure flight search transactions are fast, efficient, and cost effective; Data processing and machine learning are used across our solutions, to optimise our search, power our dynamic pricing and forecast airline’s revenue management. We have a rich ecosystem of applications, OBE, data, OJF or cloud native Skube. On the business side, we work on a stimulating mix of critical Airline Solutions functionalities like airline search or inventory, and new solutions with a great commercial dynamic like, revenue management, dynamic pricing, or Altea NDC.
One key mission of the Airline Solutions Engineering group is to enable and support our customers in the retailing transformation and to deliver our airline retailing vision: the future of the PSS (formerly known as Next-Gen Altéa, Nevio)! Within Airline Solutions , Offer is really at the heart of this transformation: we are building the new Offer Management System with a platform-oriented approach, creating from scratch several new components with a state-of-the-art microservice/event driven approach!
The department (OPT)
The Offer Optimization OPT department is responsible for building a new generation of Price and Product optimization, Retailing and Cockpit solutions inside Offer domain.
A special focus is given on the development, sustainability, efficiency and performance of the orchestration of Offer products: Dynamic Offer Product Box. So you will participate to build the Offer Price Optimization Box and all its features evolution, especially the integration of Air and Ancillaries Bundle in the modular vision of Nevio.
The team (CAT)
The team is in charge of the development of the product catalogue, a key component of Nevio, the new airline retailing platform. The product catalogue is the cornerstone of the retailing platform, it connects the Offer Management System, the Order Management system, the delivery system and the touchpoints.
It is the source repository for the definition of the products sold by the airlines, and of the rules that will define how the Offers will be built based on these products. It aims at centralizing all airline products (from flights to third-party products through ancillary services) providing a single source of truth for products within the entire airline eco-system, isolating products management from pricing and capacity management.
Your Main Responsibilities
Common accountabilities:
You will be part of a scrum team inside ACE (Airline Content Enablement) train to develop, implement and enhance the build and deployment of solutions for Product Catalogue. In particular you will have the following responsibilities :
- Support existing Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery operations by creating and maintaining Azure DevOps pipelines and releases in test and production environments, in coordination with different teams, in alignment with Offer and Nevio guidelines for cloud native components
- Contribute in delivering the needed test and production environment setup using Azure services as well as other cloud infrastructure delivery and management technologies such as GitOps, Azure DevOps, Azure Kubernetes Services, ArgoCD.
- Ensure the operability of the application by defining and documenting the targeted operational model on Azure, the different DevOps roles for Product Catalogue, putting in place CCB processes, as well as defining and ensuring proper monitoring and alerting on Azure
- Define relevant SLOs for Product Catalogue, with proper monitoring in place
- Coach other developers of the team to spread the knowledge on DevOps activities inside the team, deliver training and maintain up-to-date documentation
- Keep a link with other DevOps in Nevio to push best practices and benefit from other teams’ experience
- Follow the latest Shift3 initiatives on DevOps activities, for example streamlined Releasing Process (Java Build) and implement what is relevant according to Nevio and Offer guidelines
- Be the FinOps entry point for Product Catalogue
You will also be responsible to perform the migration from BitBucket to GitHub.
About the ideal candidate
- Master or Engineer Degree in Computer Science or related field
- More than 2 years of experience in similar role
- Team player with good communication skills
- Autonomy and proactivity
- Good level of professional English is required
The following technical skills are required:
- Java, Skube, Quarkus
- Kubernetes, Docker, Jenkins, Helm
- CI/CD: ArgoCD (GitOps)
