Director, Corporate StrategyThe Director, Corporate Strategy will play a key role in shaping and refining Lundbeck’s corporate strategy, ensuring alignment with long-term business objectives and evolving market dynamics. This individual will help drive initiatives that support enterprise-wide decision-making and build an internal strategy community that leverages the company’s collective expertise. The role requires the ability to synthesize complex insights into clear recommendations for senior leadership. The role will be responsible for driving strategic projects together with the VP of Corporate and Portfolio Strategy.Your new roleThis role will be a key resource in the Corporate Strategy team, which brings cross-functional leadership and capabilities to ensure strategies are grounded in analysis and supported by stakeholders.Key responsibilities will cover the following areas.Strategic Leadership & Corporate Strategy Development:

  • Shape and continuously refine Lundbeck’s corporate strategy, ensuring it is grounded in the company’s competitive edge and long-term vision.
  • Prepare and support facilitating strategic discussions in collaboration with relevant functions on senior leadership level to refine “where to play” and “how to win”.
  • Drive an integrated enterprise-level view of corporate strategy, by coordinating strategic planning sessions and promoting a shared vision among business functions.
  • This role is responsible for defining and shaping new governance processes, developing business case evaluation methodologies, and facilitating stakeholder alignment at the senior management level to support the implementation of new strategic ways of working for Lundbeck.

Portfolio Growth Strategy:

  • Partner with relevant functions to assess portfolio investment opportunities while ensuring alignment with overall corporate strategy. Ensure best practices are embedded in business case evaluation methodology and process.
  • Contribute to the creation of a framework that optimizes the mix of internal pipeline evolution with external market opportunities, supporting enterprise-wide decisions.
  • Ensure that portfolio growth plans reflect Lundbeck’s commitment to focused innovation, prioritizing key projects that drive long-term value.

Cross-Functional Strategy Execution:

  • Ensure alignment on strategic objectives and tracking metrics across business functions.
  • Plan initiatives that strengthen strategic capabilities across the organization, promoting a company-wide strategy community.
  • The role is responsible for dismantling organizational barriers and enhancing communication across departments, driving cohesive and unified efforts towards Lundbeck’s goals.

Internal & External Context Awareness:

  • Provide regular updates to executive management of a holistic view on the broader ecosystem in which Lundbeck operates, considering scientific advancements, competitive movements, policy changes, and emerging technology applications.
  • Ensure corporate strategy remains agile and responsive by integrating both internal developments and external market shifts.
  • Continuously monitor and analyze external trends to ensure that Lundbeck’s strategy remains competitive in innovation and market leadership.

Your future teamCorporate and Portfolio Strategy is part of Global Commercial and Corporate Strategy, which is a key function to bridge R&D and Commercial Operations.
You will independently lead a few strategic projects in a cross-functional team setting.The position is based in Valby, Denmark.What you bring to the teamProfessional:

  • Expert Strategic and analytical thinker with the ability to navigate complexi.
  • Well-versed in stakeholder management with the ability to influence senior leadership and is comfortable facilitating executive decision-making.
  • Experience in strategic scenario planning and integrating cross-functional perspectives into enterprise strategy.
  • Ability to synthesize internal and external insights into clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Proactive, programmatic mindset, and able to operate effectively in , dynamic environment.

Education:

  • MBA or advanced degree in Business, Life Sciences, or a related field.

Experience:

  • 10+ years in corporate strategy, management consulting, or pharmaceutical leadership roles. CNS/therapeutic area expertise is .
  • Experienced in driving strategic initiatives in a global, cross-functional environment.
  • Experience in aligning corporate strategy with innovation-driven business objectives.
