and are easy to explore. And our friendly communities, excellent standards in education, and good
transport links, all help to make Carmarthenshire a great place to live and work. Come and join
us!
We have excellent rates of pay and a highly rated pension scheme, generous holiday, maternity, and
paternity allowances and most importantly a caring, approachable, and supportive workforce.
To meet the demand across the Council for ecological advice, and to support the Council in
delivering its Section 6 Environment (Wales) Act 2016 duty, we are now recruiting a second Project
Ecologists post.
This post will be based in our Place and Sustainability Division, it is a permanent appointment.
Your principal work will be advising colleagues across the organisation (e.g. in Housing, Education
etc.) as to how their plans, projects and working practices must be carried out to comply with
wildlife legislation and policy.
Your work will evidence how the Council is addressing its Section 6 Environment (Wales) Act 2016
duty. We are looking for a person with experience of obtaining and managing European Protected
Species Licences.
You will play a major role in designing, communicating, and overseeing the delivery of practical,
cost effective, and sometimes innovative solutions to the provision of net benefit for biodiversity
alongside development.
The post will be based in the Rural Conservation Section, in the Council’s Place and Sustainability
Division.
You will be part of a friendly, multidisciplinary team which covers ecology, landscape biodiversity
trees, woodland, and common land.
You will need a good level of conversational Welsh. Reasonable support can be provided on
