Job description

As an EHS Specialist, you are part of the EHS Service organization of the Benelux, consisting of 3 people. In this position, you are one of the experts for the themes of safety, health and the environment. It concerns a role for 32 hours per week.

• Acting as prevention adviser for our various sites (Waterloo, Brussels, Gembloux).
• Developing, implementing and evaluating the well-being policy, in accordance with the Dynamic Risk Management System referred to in the KB Well-being Policy.
• Coordinating the activities and obligations as a local point of contact for Belgian public authorities (Valipac, FAMHP, FASFC).
• Performing and supervising EHS inspections and audits (at the BASF Benelux locations).
• You are secretary of the CPPW and in your role you actively participate in the consultation on prevention and protection at work.
• Creating awareness about safety, by organizing workshops and training courses (e.g. Safety Days).
• Coordinating the activities and obligations of the company emergency response organization.
• Be available in case of emergencies as a member of the crisis team for Belgium.

• You have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant field and you have successfully completed the training to become a prevention advisor level 2.
• You have at least 3 years of work experience in a similar position.
• You have knowledge of ISO14001 and ISO50001 management systems.
• You have additional diplomas in the field of safety science and the environment.
• You are fluent in French, Dutch and English, you communicate with ease at different levels within the organization.
• You are good at setting priorities and know how to switch smoothly between the different parts of this role.
