Fluxys
Job description
Overview:Fluxys is an international energy infrastructure group with 1,300 employees active in gas transmission & storage and liquefied natural gas terminalling. As a purpose-led company, we’re committed to fast-track the shift to a carbon neutral world. We explore new technologies and invest in infrastructure to accommodate hydrogen, biomethane, CO2 and other molecules for a climate neutral future.Energy is essential to our modern lives, but we rarely ask how it gets to us. Fluxys knows how, because we put energy in motion – today and for tomorrow. Building on our heritage as a gas infrastructure company, we are committed to transporting the carbon-neutral energy carriers of the future. At our underground storage facility in Loenhout, high-calorific natural gas is stored in aquifers at depths that can exceed one kilometre. The gas is kept in buffer so that users can at any time cope with the difference between the quantity they supply and the quantity their customers purchase. For our underground gas-storage facility in Loenhout is looking for an E&I Technician (m/f/x).
- Starting work with us, you will join a team of just under 50 colleagues, in an environment that is technically unique (being the only such setting in Belgium)
- The main focus, alongside safety, is on maintaining the operationality of our station’s storage and output functions: we are by far the largest and most significant gas-storage facility in Belgium, meaning that millions of people rely on the smooth running of our activities, whether for work purposes or otherwise
- After a period of training, during which you will learn about the facilities at our Loenhout station, you will, as an E&I (Electricity & Instrumentation) Technician, join the team responsible for the day-to-day inspection and maintenance of electrical and instrumentation components within the facility
- You will perform preventive maintenance on the station’s electrical and instrumentation devices and equipment, exploring a very wide range of different domains. While the mechanical components are managed by another team, we do work closely with that team and so you will still have the chance to consolidate your understanding of these parts
- You will analyse faults and malfunctions and make the necessary repairs
- You will suggest process improvements and will be involved in their implementation
- Ultimately, you may be called on to carry out maintenance on IT process facilities, control and automation infrastructure and the networks
- You will also be part of an on-call team responsible for rectifying any faults to ensure continued efficient operation
- You have a Bachelor’s degree in electrical science, electromechanical engineering or electronics or have achieved an equivalent level of expertise through previous work experience in a similar position
- We would welcome applications from new Bachelor’s graduates as well as experienced candidates. The most relevant experience is usually gained through working in industrial process environments
- You possess sound problem-solving skills and can work well both in a team and independently
- Working safely and to a high standard is your top priority. You follow guidelines carefully and see the value of good cooperation. You deal with the administrative follow-up of your tasks
- You are fluent in Dutch and proficient in (technical) English
This position also requires the following:
- You are willing to eventually be part of a shift/on-call system. Therefore, you live within 30 minutes of our Loenhout site or are willing to move that close
- You have a category B driving licence
