Ready to join NXP in EHS Engineering?The EHS Engineer acts as a resource to the NXP Netherlands EHS team, providing both operational and technical EHS support and guidance to our fab Operations in Nijmegen (ICN8) and NXP organizations and sites in the Netherlands.Your responsibilitiesThe EHS Engineer must work to assist with and at times manage the following key items:Is responsible for , defining, implementing, and enforcing NXP site and corporate EHS policies and procedures in sync with Netherlands government environment, health & safety guidelines to ensure a safe and healthy work environment across all sites in NXP Netherlands.Is responsible for daily operational and technical EHS-support within NXP Netherlands.Is responsible for defining, maintaining and implementing EHS Management Systems documents and procedures (EHS MS) and perform outlined actions including improvements to system and periodic audits.Collaborate with Management at ICN8, organizations in Nijmegen, Eindhoven and Delft, to achieve EHS goals and maintain effective partnerships. Involve stakeholders and drive projects and actions until successful implementation.Work proactively with the ICN Manufacturing and Site Services (Facilities, Security & Real Estate) organizations, as well as with labs and business lines in Nijmegen, Eindhoven and Delft, to identify safety, health, and environmental hazards and mitigate the risks. Drives the relationship.Assist in maintaining and improving Business Continuity programs for sites including the Business Impact Analysis, and the Emergency Response and Emergency Preparedness.Create more awareness to employees/contractual staff on items related to EHS. Organize trainings to the employees regarding safety issues.Interact with external entities and government officials, where appropriate, on matters related to EHS regulatory issues, industry issues and sharing of best practices.Collect and manage EHS related data for the sites and distribute relevant information to stakeholders.Use technical knowledge and experience to contribute in improvement projects.To accomplish these duties, the EHS Engineer must be able to quickly learn and understand; a) internal NXP site and corporate procedures and EHS Management Systems; b) the key business units, functions and leadership of NXP ICN8 and Netherlands, and c) NXP work platforms and work streams such as SharePoint and other systems and platforms.Your profileTo be successful in this role you have:Bachelor’s degree (HBO/WO) in a technical or related field (Chemical Engineering, Process Technology, Safety or Environmental Engineering/Science)Experience in a relevant EHS field, preferably in a chemical/industrial environment5 + years of experience working with other professionalsExperience working in a semiconductor manufacturing environment is a plusBasic knowledge of relevant EHS Legislation and preferable of standards ISO 14001, ISO45001Next to these qualifications you have/are:Good written and verbal English communication skills. Familiarity with MS Office tools.Able to work independently and collaboratively across various functional groups. Takes initiative and shows ownership (hands-on)Self-assured and able to engage, convince and motivate people, at all levels.Ability to complete complex assignments, resourcefulness to find (out of the box) answers and solve problems.
