Offer DescriptionAbout usAs part of its strategy, University of Reims Champagne Ardenne (URCA) is implementing a new organisation to support all members of the URCA community in the development and funding of their projects, particularly European ones.The university is looking to recruit a European Health Development Officer (M/F) for its new Project Engineering Department (DIP).Role & tasks

  • Reporting directly to the Project Engineering Director (and working closely with the Health Department), his/her role will develop URCA’s expertise and visibility within European programmes.
  • The principal tasks will be as follows:
  • Participate in and contribute to national and European thematic networks and working groups, in connection with the Health division’s themes;
  • Report the university’s position on health issues to the programme committee and identifying and supporting the division’s researchers as potential expert evaluators for the EU;
  • Identify European partners and maintain regular contact with these networks;
  • Set up and maintain information, partnerships and communication tools within each research unit attached to the Healthcare department;
  • Contribute to the internationalisation of the Health department: identify project sponsors, inform them about European programmes and calls for projects through a weekly physical presence in the units and through participation in internal committees and working meetings involving researchers;
  • Design and implement collaborative international actions to develop partnerships and a culture of European projects within the university community.

This position has been created thanks to the support of France 2030 as part of the DIVRESCA project, awarded in response to the call for projects entitled “Accelerating the development strategies of higher education and research establishments”.Specific working conditions

  • Multi-site work (head office and URCA campus)
  • Occasional travel in France and Europe
  • Periodic peaks in activity following European calls for projects

RequirementsResearch Field Medical sciences Education Level Master Degree or equivalentSkills/QualificationsProfile required

  • You have a Master’s degree or PhD in one of the scientific fields covered by the Health division: immunology, oncology, cardiovascular, virology, pneumology, respiratory disease, cell/host interactions, regeneration, ageing.
  • You are familiar with the European institutions and the main European and international funding programmes, and have a good understanding of the legal, administrative and financial mechanisms involved in the development of European and international projects.
  • You have a good understanding of the legal and financial framework of a higher education institution and of public law, contract law and public finance. Professional English and French are a requirement.
  • You are able to lead and manage projects and prepare a budget.
  • You must have a solid understanding of information systems and office software.
  • You have an analytical approach that enables you to prepare documents including reports and summaries, and the ability to communicate effectively at professional events such as meetings, training courses and oral presentations.
  • You have excellent interpersonal skills and a sense of diplomacy. You are comfortable working in new and varied work environments
