Within the Human Safety Net (THSN), we are currently looking for an Exhibition and Visitor Experience Specialist, who will report to the Director of the Procuratie Vecchie, who will be responsible for delivering the content strategy of The Home of The Human Safety Net in Venice via the interactive experience offered by “A World of Potential” and the temporary exhibitions. An exciting role delivering experiences connected to social innovation and community engagement to ensure public services and the management of relationships with visitors before, during, and after the visit experience.Key responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Exhibition Space Management & Activation, ensuring high levels of visitor traffic and engagement in collaboration with the Community Manager
  • Manage exhibition space to ensure full-time functionality & updates with external service providers
  • Connect and position the exhibition space in the network of innovative museums
  • Manage the Art Studio and its temporary installations
  • Organize group visits, guided tours and special initiatives to incentivize traffic
  • Plan and execute partnerships to activate the exhibition space
  • Collect and process data necessary for measuring user satisfaction and impact, and contribute to the creation of qualitative and quantitative reports
  • Manage CRM and donations journey
  • Manage and coordinate ticketing, exhibition & front desk staff via an outsourcing partner (eg. supervision of ticketing, surveillance, and mediation staff in welcoming and managing the public daily)
  • Oversee the continuous training of staff in contact with visitors and mediators and supervise educational activities and mediation projects aimed at the public
  • Management of signage and graphic and informational supports in the exhibition spaces

Our ideal candidate will meet the following requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience with temporary or permanent thematic, engagement-based exhibition space management in museums and cultural institutions (eg. Science and/or interactive musems) with a strong holistic knowledge of managing exhibitions in relation with audience traffic generation, with a focused attention on the development of Schools visits
  • Academic background in Museology, Art Education, Cultural Mediation, Communication and UX, and Marketing of Artistic and Cultural Heritage
  • Excellent knowledge of Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint, and good knowledge of Salesforce CRM application and Survey applications
  • A keen interest in innovation in exhibitions and in experiential learning, and a background in exhibition related project management is a requisite for this role
  • Proven track record in onsite stage management, production management, and scheduling (including production plans and work back schedules)
  • Understanding and proven exposure to sustainability principles and practices
  • Strong budgeting and contract negotiation skills
  • Excellent project management and execution skills
  • Strong sensitivity for ethical sourcing, socially conscious staffing practices, and creating sustainable experience with a focus on low environmental impact and positive social impact in the communities in which you work
  • Data driven in decision making
  • Communication skills with the ability to work across all levels in an organization and build strong relationships with external organizations, able to work collaboratively within a fast-paced distributed team
  • Creative and capable of coming up with innovative ways to further develop The Home of The Human Safety Net through engaging content
  • Open-minded and excited about being part of a new initiative of The Human Safety Net
  • Knowledge of Venetian environment is considered a plus
