Civil Engineer-internship program

Renewables Global Business Unit (R-GBU) is supporting the Group to accelerate Renewables (RES) asset development with an EBIT around €1.2 Bn end of 2021. We count 4,900 employees and more than 50 nationalities across 20 countries. With an installed capacity of 36 GW end of June 2022 across 4 Operational Areas, R-GBU manages a diversified portfolio of assets including Solar (4.6 GW), Wind (13.7 GW) and Hydro (17.9 GW) assets. Our ambition is to multiply by more than 2 our installed capacity with 80 GW in 2030.

Main missions and responsibilities :

• Assist industrial projects related to the design of renewable projects (SOLAR & WIND). Supervise the Civil Engineering/Geotechnical and Hydrogeological studies defined in collaboration with the tutor,
• Calculations and design studies of specific foundations (SOLAR & WIND) – foundations, earthworks, metal structures, composite materials, roads and highways,
• Maintain the expertise of the RGBU global platform on the construction trades and works dedicated to the foundations of the structures on renewable activities (PV and WIND) and other site developments (platform, access road, drainage, crane, etc.),
• Provide technical support to other RGBU entities,
• Carry out the technical follow-up of the General Contractor/EPC in charge of the development and installation works,
• Ensure a continuous technical and technological watch in the specialty of PV Engineering, utility scale and fix or tracker equipment in order to propose technical and economic optimization solutions

As part of a team of 7 people made up of engineers and designers, you will join the Engineering division of the Engineering platform (30 people) and the technology expertise divisions (20 people).

Under the responsibility of an experienced engineer in Civil Engineering and Steel Structure Calculation, he will be responsible for technical support missions in connection with projects under development and construction.

The position is based in the headquarters of the platform with possible travel in France and abroad.

The possibility of teleworking will be defined with the referent and the rules set by the group.

Technical skills to be acquired

Mastery of quality processes within a company

Mastery of specific design phases for renewable projects (Preliminary/Basis/Details design)

Mastery of software for calculating the sizing of steel structures in the project or construction phase (Robot Structure Analysis)

Inventory and Application of Specific Environmental Risk Parameters

Carry out a technological and normative watch on structures dedicated to foundations/metal structures

Carry out calculations and sizing studies on the structural assumptions used, taking into account the site’s environment (geology, corrosion, wind, snow, seismic risk, topography, etc.),

Carry out simulations of strength, deformation and elasticity to test on projects in the design, works or control phase, reinforcement

Perform technical reports on structural calculations

Carry out control calculation notes on existing structures – following the on-site diagnosis

Mandatory pre-requisites:

Formation : Engineering School with Specialization in Renewable Energy/Materials/Civil Engineering

Expérience :Notions in Geotechnics/Hydrogeology, Topography, GIS, Structural Design Calculation

Aptitudes professionnelles : Team spirit – sense of working together – autonomy – rigor – Spirit of synthesis and analysis.

Langues : English (operational in writing) imperative

Autres : Some travel to be planned: site visits, structural diagnosis, expertise, etc.
