The role sits within the Group Finance team that supports our Retail Solution group and the Enterprise Product and Technology team, known as CAPTG.The role is ideal for a trainee accountant or analyst and will increase in scope, responsibility and exposure to senior management and varied stakeholder groups over time.Scope of Role:Reporting to the Finance Business Partner – Retail and CAPTG – Product and Pricing, you will be working within a small team, providing financial, analytical, and commercial support to the Retail Solutions businesses and CAPTG functional teams including:
- Product:
- Clearly identify products
- Structure data to provide insight into product revenue and profitability
- Provide insight to identify opportunities for enhanced product pricing
- Provide analysis to support financial viability of new product launches
- Customer profitability and pricing:
- Build and maintain customer profitability models breaking out specific products and service level requirements
- Maintain a customer renewal calendar including key contractual terms
- Prepare regular and adhoc analysis to provide insight and support decision making
- Contribute to the monthly forecasting process
- Contribute to the annual business planning cycle (budgets)
Key objectives and deliverables this role is accountable for:
- Ensure customer / product pricing governance process is clearly established
- Once in place ensure that governance is strictly followed for all new customer contracts and renewals
- Flag key customer contracts are coming up to renewal in advance of renewal date to maximise pricing opportunities
- Analyse product penetration by customer to identify potential cross selling opportunities
Specific skills, knowledge and experience required to be able to successfully deliver the role:
- University graduate with proven high level of academic achievement (BA or equivalent)
- Good financial acumen (commitment to studying for an appropriate professional qualification) e.g. ACCA, ACA, and CIMA
- Highly numerate with the ability to analyse data, spot trends and draw conclusions
- Strong Excel skills and some familiarity with PowerPoint
- Strong written communication skills with ability to write about complex problems in a logical and concise way
- Strong interpersonal skills, proven ability to work with others as part of a team
- Ability to work to strict deadlines
