About UOSSM

Since 2012, UOSSM International has been providing medical relief and healthcare services to thousands of people affected by the crisis in Syria, Turkey, and other countries. UOSSM is a non-governmental organization registered in France and has a mission to deliver projects in Gaziantep, south of Turkey. UOSSM’s capacity is 65 staff in Turkey, Gaziantep, and about 1800 staff inside Syria providing health services to around 1.5 m beneficiaries on annual basis. UOSSM delivers services related to Health, Protection, Nutrition, Mental health, referral ambulance services, and other interrelated ones. The annual budget is estimated at about 20 M USD approximately. Our largest achievements are to operate vital hospitals in the northwest of Syria and operate a big number of PHC centers, establishing complementary services like solar systems for many health facilities. The following are examples of activities and services but not limited to: Deliver primary care, trauma care, and psycho-social support services, Support clinics and hospitals with medicine, medical supplies and operating expenses, Train and developing human capital and medical practitioners caring for victims of war, Collect data to improve the quality, quantity, and types of health services provided, Coordinate with partner organizations to ensure that aid reaches those in need and Engage the international governments, international bodies and the public for support.

  • Position Purpose

About the role :

The Finance Coordinator oversees all financial operations, including preparing payments after verifying necessary documents to ensure compliance with organizational policies and procedures. This role involves recording payment processes in the accounting system, managing banking activities, organizing financial archives, and submitting financial reports to the line manager. Additionally, the Finance Coordinator supports management by preparing financial analyses and proposing alternatives for financial decisions.

Main Responsibilities

  1. Accounting Processes: Oversee complete and accurate accounting entries and provide the legal accountant with all necessary invoices.
  2. Bank Reconciliations: Prepare bank reconciliations, correct discrepancies, monitor money transfers, and perform daily reconciliations.
  3. Account Management: Manage account settlements (e.g., processing exchange rate differences, closing accounts) and establish accounts and codes in the accounting system according to approved budgets and internal procedures.
  4. Documentation Preparation: Prepare all supporting documents for daily financial operations related to fund receipts and disbursements.
  5. Partner Financial Management: Oversee financial aspects related to implementing partners by reviewing documentation, preparing reports, and coordinating with relevant departments.
  6. Project Financial Monitoring: Monitor financial reports of project implementation, ensure timely submissions to donors, and oversee project audits.
  7. Legal Compliance: Liaise with relevant parties on legal matters, manage contracts, and provide periodic project status reports to the line manager.
  8. Regulatory Adherence: Ensure all financial and administrative activities comply with French law and report any financial commitments or liabilities to the line manager.
  9. Asset Management: Maintain asset records, track assets, and submit periodic reports to the line manager.
  10. HR Collaboration: Assist Human Resources with salary allocations to projects and prepare periodic salary and wage reports.
  11. Audit Preparation: Prepare necessary documents and reports for audits, assist auditors during annual and project audits, and provide required data to finalize annual accounts.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Economics, Finance, or Auditing.
  • Language Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and French to convey information professionally, promptly, and accurately.
  • Experience: At least 3 years of experience in finance.
  • Technical Skills: Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), email management, and scheduling tools.

Duration:

  • Initial Term: The contract is for a 1 year, with the first two months designated as a probationary period.
  • Probationary Period: During the initial two months, either party may terminate the contract without providing a reason.
  • Extension and Renewal: The contract may be extended or renewed based on a written agreement between both parties
